Visit Nara

This store on the main shopping street in Yamato Koriyama specializes in beans and grains from Japan and abroad; everything from local rice to quinoa and amaranth. In the back of the store is a small cafe serving traditional Japanese desserts like anmitsu and kakigori (shaved ice), as well as simple snacks like yaki-onigiri (grilled rice balls). The servings are generous. There are no English menus, but there are pictures of the tea and snack sets on the wall.
